Goodbyes are always hard and painful. Saying goodbye to Amal was also very difficult for me. Three months of Amal passed so quickly that at our last session, it was very hard to believe that fellowship came to its end. The last session of the Amal Fellowship program was a mix of emotions and laughter. That session was very different from all the previous sessions. We were there for chit-chat, reflecting on our Amal journey and playing games.

We talked about funny incidents regarding meeting celebrities and some of our fellows had very interesting stories, which we relished a lot. We played Scavenger Hunt, in it we were divided into two teams and we had to solve riddles and had to take pictures with the answers. We all enjoyed funny pictures and commented on them. We decided to say “Thank you “to Ma’am Ayesha and Ma’am Uswah. For that, at the time of break we turned off our videos and when Sila wrote in the chat box as a cue that “I can’t believe it’s our last day” we turned on our videos holding our thank you notes in hands. That was a little surprise from our batch but I know it was not enough in front of what Ma’am Ayesha and Ma’am Uswah done for us. No doubt their efforts, motivation, cooperation, and guidance are incomparable.

Ma’am Uswah and some fellows shared amazing videos based on our memorable moments from fellowship. These videos were so emotional and nostalgic that I had to off my camera in between just to hide my tears. In the session, we also reflected on our last three months and talked about our learnings and how Amal brought changes in our lives. In the end, we sang songs and played different games like tongue twisters and charades. The theme of our last session was “Daku” and we also had very cute photos with it.

I enjoyed all the uplifting activities of the last session and they made me smile and happy. Such uplifting and mood-boosting activities are very important for relaxing, happiness, and mental health, in such a busy schedule of lives. I met a lot of good people through Amal and I will remain in contact with my Amal family through social media and off and on meetups.

Amal changed our mindsets, it filled us with positivity, motivated us, and showed us the path. The last session was not the end of our Amal journey, it was just the start of our new lives. Amal will always be with us in the form of learnings it has given to us.

Thank you, Amal!
